The former Patriots Super Bowl champ comes to Mac Jones’ defense after Boomer Esiason’s offense

While Patriots QB McJones has come under fire for sloppy play in recent weeks, Boomer doesn’t like Esiason… his body language?

Mack Jones has been through a lot this year, and it doesn’t help that Matt Patricia is the offensive coordinator. Jones took a huge step back from his rookie campaign, with now Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels as the OC.

Jones seemed disoriented at times, struggling to follow his lead. It doesn’t help that he missed a few games due to injury, but being outplayed by someone named Bailey Zappe just wasn’t in the cards for this season.

The Alabama producer was recently fined for a foul play on Bengals DB Eli Apple. That fine has been paid, but Boomer Esiason is not forgotten. Instead of calling Jones out for a pattern of questionable behavior, Esiason took aim at the Pats quarterback’s body language.

“This is the thing I really do not like About Mac Jones if you want to get to the root of it. His body language, his facial expressions, his turn on the field – p*** me off. There is stupidity to them. I don’t know how to explain it another way.” Esiason said.

It’s weird.

Patriots: Christian Fauria defends McJones

Esiason seems to have genuine disdain for Jones, all because he’s a little annoyed at his offense. Sure, he could be better, but he’s also in his sophomore year. Baby cut a break.

Former Patriots tight end Christian Furia, who co-hosted a district radio show, came on Jones defense.

Fauria suggests that the coaching staff deserve some of the blame, not just Jones. As a second-year pro, Jones has only so much control over the Patriots’ offense and struggles. However, Patricia failed as a head coach and is now failing at any level of empowerment that Bill Belichick has given him.

It just doesn’t work in New England.
